Buena Vida

A few nights ago five of us went to one of my favorite restaurants in Loreto, Buena Vida. They have an extensive menu, from appetizers to seafood entrees! They also have all types of burger sandwiches, including beef, chicken or shrimp. It has a nice gravel floor/ open air ambiance. During the summer they get a nice breeze off the sea (and they offer lots of fans). The night we went was one of our recent cold evenings, so we opted to dine comfortably at one of the tables in their  inside area. This recent evening, three of us had one of my favorite items, “Doraditas”. The Doraditas are like an overstuffed, crispy, quesadilla- and they are very good! They  make them with Marlin, chicken, shrimp or arrachera beef. The other two in our party had burgers, one shrimp and one beef. (The hamburgers are, in my opinion, one of the best in Loreto!) Our entire group left with our appetites happily sated.  They also serve a wonderful seafood tower- enough to feed a small group. I have yet to be disappointed with the meals I have had there. I also cannot speak highly enough about the staff. You are always welcomed with open arms  and a warm smile, usually from Aleyda, the owner. They do offer a full bar, with excellent Margaritas, beer and wine. As everywhere in Mexico, the service is very good, not always speedy, as everything is cooked to order by Chef Leonardo and his staff. Just relax and enjoy. As I said, it is one of my favorite places and I will definitely go back.

Buena Vida is located on Calle Francisco Madero on the north side of the arroyo as you head to Colonia Zaragosa, turn left, just before the arroyo.
