Recently it was Dave and DeeDee’s last night in Loreto for this winter season. We are so sad to see them go, but really looking forward to their return in the fall!
Anyway, for their “Last Supper” DeeDee wanted sushi so we went to Restaurante La Terraza, located on Madero just above Cafe Ole. Ron and I had not eaten there for about a year so we were anxious to join them. Dave and DeeDee selected our first appetizer, Tostaditas. These are really excellent, they consist of a raw fish salad served atop a crispy fried tostada msquare. The flavor and texture were great, when you go definitely try these! Ron and I then chose the entré, the mixed tempura seafood, vegetable platter. We requested only camarones (shrimp), as Ron and I are not fans of pulpo (octopus). This was wonderful and certainly enough for the four of us. They have a very nice menu including many varieties of sushi rolls which are always very flavorful, yakameshi (fried rice) and many other offerings, including fried ice cream! They also offer a full bar and (for us summer residences) is well air-conditioned. They are located where Calle Francisco Madero begins as a pedestrian walkway right off Calle Miguel Hidalgo. Look for the somewhat hidden staircase next to Café Ole’. Their prices are low/moderate especially for Loreto. Please Enjoy!
Our staff that night included Miriam, Julius and Alexis (all so young, but very talented and well trained)! If you see any of them on your visit, please say “Hi” from Dave, DeeDee, Ron and Peter!
